Best answer: Actually, you may be directed after loading Quicken/setup to go to a Quicken download page and download an earlier version to ensure that your data file will be updated for use with Quicken 2017. The new program appears to be good for two years, which may mean that you have to 're-subscribe' a couple of years from now. Ultimately you can use Quicken 2016 Windows and Mac until April 30, 2019 per Quicken online at which time they will stop all support but your data file would still be available and as I understand it you would still be able to enter transactions manually.

I have been a Quicken user for more than 20 years now. Problem is, the only usable version of Quicken is the Windows version. I currently use a Mac and have an entirely separate Windows computer only for Quicken. This past weekend, I bit the bullet and bought the Quicken for Mac version.
Pros: it's come a looooong way. Also, it is lightning fast. It makes the Windows version feel so clunky. The graphs and forecasting take only seconds (if even) to generate. Also, I now have my finances on my main computer and this makes me SO happy. Cons: it's still missing some really core features. A couple of the biggest ones causing me problems right now are the following:
- Best web browsers for mac 2018. How to download pbs videos mac. There no way to exclude transfers in reports which makes them completely unusable for me.
- https://browngrey495.weebly.com/blog/smilebox-for-mac-2018. The downloaded transactions don't pop up for 'approval'. How is this possible!? I do not want them being automatically folded in my register. At least that's what I'm seeing.
- There's no scheduled transactions window?? I don't understand this. Maybe I'm missing something. At least, I haven't found it yet.
- How a user actually enter transactions is clunky. The split window is difficult to navigate. Considering finances is a data-entry-heavy activity, this is a terrible design.
